High Gas Prices
Gas prices have fluctuated considerably since the devastating hurricane that hit the New Orleans area. This has caused a hardship on the field technicians that drive considerable miles to service their herds. The Heart of America DHIA board and management has addressed the situation.
A flexible fuel surcharge has been developed to alleviate the situation for the time being. If the situation continues the board will re-consider the issue in the future.
The gas price will be averaged from the states that HOA serves. Using 18 miles per gallon as a standard and using the table below and the actual mileage to the farm a surcharge will be calculated and paid to the technician.
Hopefully, the price of gas will stabilize and the surcharge will be minimal.
